Gleb Savchenko revealed he’s skipping the “Dancing with the Stars” Live Tour—and it’s for a surprising reason. The Russian-born dancer, who was eliminated from the 34th season of the ABC ballroom competition with celeb partner Hilaria Baldwin on Disney Night, told Us Weekly he’s ready for the downtime to focus on himself.

“I’m not going on tour,” Savchenko confirmed in an October 2025 interview. “A lot of people don’t know this about me, but I’m actually very spiritual. I meditate every single day. I’ve followed Joe Dispenza for the last three years. I’m going to his retreat in December. I’m very excited about it. I’ve been following the Monroe Institute. I meditate. I’m focusing on myself.”

Gleb Savchenko Wants to Put a Bigger Focus on His Acting Career

The DWTS Live Tour kicks off January 26 in Akron, OH.

In the interview, Savchenko noted that in addition to the retreat, he will be spending the holidays in Hong Kong with his daughters, Olivia, 14, and Zlata, 7, which means he wouldn’t be around for tour rehearsals. But the pro dancer also has another focus.

“I’m focusing on my acting,” Savchenko dished. “I’m auditioning. I’m in the Lesly Kahn School for Acting. I’m taking it very seriously.”

Savchenko also told the outlet that he even auditioned for a part on the ABC soap opera “General Hospital.”

Why Gleb Savchenko Isn't on the DWTS Live Tour

Savchenko’s first acting role was in the 2023 Great American Family movie “Swing Into Romance.” He played main character Alex Ivanov in the TV film, opposite DWTS Season 18 alum Danica McKellar.

In an interview with Digital Journal, McKellar revealed that she mentored Savchenko for his first acting role and that he returned the favor by helping her with the dance scenes.

“Gleb was also an incredible acting student; you would never know that this was his first movie,” she said. “It was a delight to watch Gleb grow so quickly as an actor, he made it look easy, and that’s how you know that someone is doing a really good job.”

Over the past year, Savchenko has become a big TikTok presence. In an interview with TooFab, he explained that the social media platform actually helps him with his acting.

“The reason why I do it is, a year ago I did my first movie, ‘Swing into Romance,’ with Danica McKellar,” he said. “I started I started my acting career, I always wanted to act, and I feel like, you know Tik Tok is just the perfect place to practice it, all your acting and like all the miming.
