For the wedding scene, “we filmed an entire take of a marriage ceremony with actual priests,” Reeves shared. When asked if they are legally married, Reeves replied, “Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So I suppose we’re married, in the eyes of God.”

Francis Ford Coppola directed the new “Dracula” film. Choosing a real church as the setting would not only be visually stunning but also help him achieve his aim of making the scene feel as authentic as possible. When discussing what mattered to him as a director, he emphasized the need for authenticity. “Having the genuine wedding ceremony as it might occur in that religion [Greek Orthodox Christianity] would be lovely,” he mentioned.

He has acknowledged that the wedding scene might be more credible than initially thought. “This is quite authentic and I find it very beautiful, because we actually performed the ceremony and had the priest conduct it,” Coppola stated. “So in a way, when we finished, we realized that Keanu and Winona truly are married as a result of this scene and this ceremony.”]}]}

In promoting the 2018 film “Destination Wedding,” Entertainment Weekly interviewed the couple to delve into their relationship. Ryder mentioned that their vows have convinced God they are married, even if it was merely for a film. “So I believe we’re married,” she stated. “No, I truly think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis had a genuine Romanian priest. We filmed the master shot, and he performed the entire ceremony. Therefore, I believe we’re married.”

There were rumors that both had secretly nurtured long-term feelings for each other. However, neither acted on the attraction, nor did they recognize that it was mutual.
