Charlie Kirk Was Shot And Killed On September 10
While speaking at an event on his American Comeback Tour at Utah Valley University, conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was shot. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died, leaving behind his wife, Erika Kirk, and their two young children.

Charlie was sitting at his notorious “Prove Me Wrong” table, where he debated college students, professors, and the public over many different topics.
Utah Valley University was the first stop on Kirk’s tour, which was supposed to take him to Colorado State University, University of Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Utah State, Montana State, University of North Dakota, Indiana University, Louisiana State University, and Ole Miss.
On Friday, September 12, President Trump announced the FBI had the suspected shooter in custody. He is set to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon (Sep 16) on aggravated murder, obstruction and firearm charges.
Instead of naming his suspected murderer and focusing on him, we choose to remember Charlie as a man, husband, and father.
Charlie Had Two Children With His Wife, Erika
Charlie and Erika Kirk met in 2018 after Charlie messaged Erika on Instagram, thinking she would be a great addition to his Turning Point USA team. She was a former Miss Arizona USA and an outspoken Christian conservative woman.
They met up at a restaurant in NYC as part of a job interview, but instead of landing the job, she landed a second date, and so on and so forth, until they got engaged in December 2020.
The two were married on May 8, 2021 and welcomed a daughter in 2022 and a son in 2024. Their children’s names have never been made public.

Charlie Tells Their Daughter About Their First Meeting
Erika posted a video on Instagram on Tuesday (Sept. 16) with the caption, “…my favorite love story.”
The video featured her late husband talking with their daughter, who was adorably dressed in a pink and white striped smock dress and pigtail buns.
They were sitting at the exact table in the same restaurant where Charlie and Erika first met in person.
“Story time,” Charlie tells his young daughter. “So, we’re here at Bill’s Burgers in New York City. And right at this very table was the first time that Dad met Mama, and it started out as a job interview.”
He continued, “And I was asking all these questions [about] philosophy, religion, Jesus, and then I realized mama was beautiful and smart and elegant and Christ-like, and so I said, ‘Forget this job interview! I want to date you.’ I said, ‘I have enough friends.’ And that’s where your journey started.”
Many people were touched by this video, and extended their love to Erika and her children. See some reactions below.
