A bride refused to let her husband’s slip of the tongue ruin their wedding day!

Rebecca Fildes recently shared a now-viral clip on TikTok of the moment she exchanged vows with Andrew Fildes at a registry office in Bedfordshire, England. The couple had been together for six years before walking down the aisle in October 2023, the Daily Mail reported.

Andrew, 51, appears visibly nervous in the footage while holding Rebecca’s hands. As he was repeating the vows, he caused the 46-year-old to break into hysterical laughter by accidentally calling her “Sarah.”

“When [your] new husband calls you his ex-girlfriend’s name,” Rebecca wrote over the TikTok video.

Despite being amused by the mishap, she wrote “oh dear” in the caption of the TikTok video alongside a hands covering face emoji.

Rebecca was quick to correct Andrew on the blunder at the time, according to the Daily Mail.

“I wasn’t even aware of it when I said it. Rebecca just looked at me and I thought ‘What have I said wrong’ and she corrected me,” Andrew recalled. “My brother put his hand on his face and my son shook his head and I thought, ‘I’ve clearly got something wrong.’ ”

“It’s just one of those things but it’s quite a common name. Although it’s my ex, we’ve been separated for 10 years,” he added.

The couple has likened the situation to the episode of Friends where Ross accidentally says “Rachel” instead of “Emily” during his vows.

“We’ve got the kind of relationship where I don’t think he did that for any reason other than just making a mistake,” Rebecca told the Daily Mail. “I just laughed it off and we still laugh about it. I keep saying he owes me a proper wedding now, where he gets my name right.”

Since Rebecca’s initial TikTok video of the vows went viral with over 38,000 views, many people have revealed how they would’ve reacted in the situation.

“I wouldn’t laugh to hear the name of his ex-girlfriend… I would cancel the wedding, that’s a big red flag,” one person wrote in the comment section.

“I’d be bringing this up for the next 50 years,” another said, while someone else added, “Oh dear, that’s not a good sign, is it?”

Despite many people saying the blunder is a sign their marriage won’t last, Rebecca has remained in good spirits and made three follow-up videos mocking the critics.

She showed her wedding ring with an unbothered facial expression in the most recent clip alongside the words, “It will or won’t.”
