In a recent announcement, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk expressed his frustration and disbelief regarding the escalating hostility directed at Tesla and its vehicles.

Through social media, Musk highlighted the rise in vandalism and negative attitudes, asserting, “I’ve never done anything harmful,” as he conveyed his worries about what he views as an unjust backlash.
Musk’s remarks arise amidst increasing reports of intentional vandalism targeting Tesla vehicles, which includes acts such as keying, tire slashing, and more severe forms of damage.

Social media has seen the circulation of videos depicting individuals defacing or attempting to sabotage Tesla cars, especially in urban settings where discussions about electric vehicles and their influence on the automotive sector are particularly intense. “I’m honestly shocked at the level of hate directed at Tesla,” Musk stated. “People are keying cars, smashing windows, and even attacking charging stations. We’re simply trying to promote sustainable energy and innovation. I’ve never done anything harmful to warrant this kind of treatment.”
Although Tesla has historically been a divisive brand, recent controversies—including workforce reductions, price changes, and Musk’s candid views on social and political matters—have intensified reactions from both detractors and advocates. Some speculate that discontent among traditional automotive workers, skepticism towards electric vehicles, and ideological opposition to Musk himself have played a role in the growing hostility.
Industry analysts observe that Tesla’s significant presence in the electric vehicle market, combined with Musk’s larger-than-life persona, has positioned the company as a target for both admiration and animosity.
“Tesla has transformed the auto industry, but such disruption inevitably invites resistance,” remarked automotive analyst Mark Reynolds. “What we are witnessing is a blend of anti-EV sentiment, corporate competition, and resentment towards Musk’s personal influence.”
In light of the rising incidents of vandalism, several Tesla owners have begun utilizing Sentry Mode, the integrated surveillance feature designed to capture events occurring around stationary vehicles. Numerous individuals have posted videos of offenders in the act, prompting online conversations and, in certain instances, resulting in arrests.
