Giannis Antetokounmpo Makes NBA History, Surpasses Wilt and Oscar with Record-Breaking Season
It’s not every day an NBA player etches their name in the record books ahead of legends like Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson—but Giannis Antetokounmpo has done just that.
The Milwaukee Bucks superstar has wrapped up the 2024–25 regular season with an extraordinary stat line: 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game over 67 contests. This marks the third time in Giannis’s career that he’s averaged at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in a single season—more than any player in NBA history.
Both Chamberlain and Robertson managed this rare statistical feat only twice in their careers, but Giannis has now set himself apart with his third such campaign, achieved in consecutive seasons—2022–23, 2023–24, and now 2024–25.
While his 30.4 points per game rank second in the league behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 32.7, Giannis continues to be a dominant force on both ends of the court. His rebounding numbers place him just behind Karl-Anthony Towns and Nikola Jokic.
Already a two-time MVP and 2023 NBA champion, Giannis is now aiming for another deep playoff run. The Bucks’ journey begins on April 19, when they take on the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the postseason.
