Singer Chris Martin split from actress Dakota Johnson in June, while Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner was dating British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson until recently

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has sparked dating rumors with actress Sophie Turner shortly after he and Dakota Johnson, 36, broke off their engagement.

This week the Game of Thrones actress and singer ignited dating speculation as the pair were seen on a “secret date” together, according to Daily Mail. While the insider didn’t divulge what their outing was, Sophie has always been a major fan of the Coldplay singer and was previously seen breaking down in ‘”tears” after receiving a birthday message from him.

Sophie’s ex-husband Joe Jonas, 36, who previously filed from divorce from the actress in Sept. 2023, surprised her with a cameo from Chris, 48, for her birthday back in 2020. In a recirculating video that was featured on Joe’s Cup Of Joe podcast, the former couple were seen seated in a restaurant when Joe passed his phone to Sophie and said, “I have someone who wants to say happy birthday.”

Sophie, 29, then looked over at the screen and threw her hands to her face as she screamed, “It’s Chris Martin!” In the video, Chris is heard saying, “This is Chris from Coldplay, I wanted to say on behalf of me and the even more handsome members of our band, have the best day and I sending you all my love and I hope your having the best time.”

He ended the video by adding, “Thanks for being awesome, bye,” and then blew a kiss at the camera.

Sophie, on the verge of tears from the clip, then looked over at Joe and said, “I’m not going to cry on camera,” the singer then laughed and they high-fived each other.

Chris and Sophie’s alleged romance also comes as the two have both recently ended their own respective relationships. Chris has been single for a few months after his eight-year on-and-off relationship with Dakota ended in June when they decided to break off their engagement.

The former couple reportedly broke up due to a combination of factors, although neither party has directly addressed the real reason for the breakdown of their love. One source told Page Six that they believe the reason for their split was primarily due to disagreements over their future, including landing on a potential wedding date and differing views on having children.

As for Sophie, she appeared to be in an on-and-off relationship over the summer with British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson. The pair later split following a high-society wedding in late September. At the time, the two were reportedly seen arguing between kissing passionately on the dance floor.

Ahead of this, Sophie shared an approximately seven-year-long relationship with Joe. The former couple started their relationship in 2016, and later married 2019. The Jonas Brothers star later filed for divorce in September 2023, after four years of marriage. During this time they welcomed two daughters including their 5-year-old Willa and 3-year-old Delphine.
