The country star said moments like that “kills the vibe of the show”
Luke Bryan has some words for whoever threw an object at him during his latest show.
After getting hit with an object during his performance at the North Dakota State Fair on Saturday, July 26, the “One Margarita” singer reacted to the incident. “It’s the last song of the night. It was a big ole fun party, and I think one person just took it too far,” Bryan, 49, told Taste of Country about what happened onstage.
“We see it. Every other entertainer out there is getting stuff — you get stuff thrown at ya,” he added, giving fans a perspective on what it’s like experiencing something like that while performing. “You hope that you can see who did it.”
“I mean, if I saw him throw it, I could have gone right to him,” Bryan continued. “I probably would have jumped right off in there.”

The country musician noted that there were “a lot of little kids” in the audience. “At that point, if I’d even stopped it and pointed somebody out, it kills the vibe of the show,” he concluded.
According to a fan TikTok, someone threw what appeared to be a plush ball at Bryan during his performance of “Country Girl (She It for Me).” Bryan stopped singing the chorus for a second and stared into the crowd before carrying on with the 2011 song, handling the slight interruption like a pro.
Fans responded to the incident online. “I would have walked off the stage and been done singing,” one said. “Luke Bryan got hit but kept on rockin’ much respect,” another said of his composure.
“You know he’s a good guy when he takes that amount of disrespect and shrugs it off,” a third chimed in. “Shame on whoever did this,” someone else wrote.

Objects being thrown at performers during their shows is unfortunately nothing new. Tim McGraw spoke about fans’ actions ahead of his Standing Room Only Tour.
“I mean, you could really injure somebody and you could miss and hit somebody in the audience and injure somebody,” he told CNN in July 2023. “What happens if somebody gets hurt? Then it ruins the show for everybody. If somebody can’t continue performing.”
Adele addressed the trend at her Las Vegas residency in July 2023. “Have you noticed how people are forgetting f—ing show etiquette at the moment. People are throwing s— on stage. Have you seen that?” she asked the crowd.

Taylor Swift told the crowd at an Eras Tour stop in November 2023 that it “really freaks me out when stuff gets thrown on the stage.”
“Because if it’s on the stage then a dancer can trip on it,” she continued. “I love that you brought presents, and that is so nice, but just can you please not throw them on the stage?”
Up next on Bryan’s Country Song Came On Tour are stops in Cincinnati, Virginia Beach, Va. Buffalo, N.Y. and Dallas through August and September.
