Bon Jovi is heading back on the road!

On Wednesday, Oct. 22, the award-winning rock band announced its upcoming Forever Tour, set for next year — marking their first shows since Jon Bon Jovi’s 2022 vocal cord surgery.

The tour will kick off in July 2026 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, where they’ll deliver four performances, followed by shows in the United Kingdom.

Additionally, the band will release a new, collaborative version of their latest studio album, FOREVER (Legendary Edition), which features Bruce Springsteen, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Robbie Williams, Avril Lavigne and more.

“There is a lot of joy in this announcement – joy that we can share these nights together with our amazing fans and joy that the band can be together,” said Jon, 63, in a statement. “I am lucky enough to be able to hold a light out to the audience each night and stand in their reflection for a tremendous collective experience – I get to stand in the WE of our concerts.”

The “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer continued, “And I’ve spoken extensively on my gratitude, but I will say it again. I’m deeply grateful that the fans and the brotherhood of this band have been patient and allowed me the time needed to get healthy and prepare for touring. I’m ready and excited!”

The tour announcement comes after Jon underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022 and rehabilitation, both of which were documented in Hulu’s 2024 docuseries Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.

In an April 2024 cover story, Bon Jovi told PEOPLE he now works with vocal coaches and does daily voice exercises: “Every day is the recovery process,” he said at the time.

“I’m capable of singing. What I’m not necessarily capable of is two and a half hours a night, four nights a week,” he said, “but I’m aspiring to get that back.”

The “You Give Love a Bad Name“ singer echoed his previous comments in a statement about FOREVER (Legendary Edition). “I was singing well enough in the studio for the recording, but the vocal demands and rigors of touring were still out of reach for me,” he said. “Without the ability to tour or promote an album we were all very proud of, I decided to call on some friends to help me in my time of need.”

For Jon, FOREVER (Legendary Edition) is “more than just a collection of collaborations.” He describes the album as “born out of necessity,” with a “new viewpoint and new spirit… that proves we all get by in this world with a little help from our friends.”

“I feel tremendous joy and gratitude releasing this album and I think it shows in the music. I can say with certainty that there is always something bigger than ME, and that’s WE,” he concluded.
