Jon Bon Jovi has another job to add to his résumé — grandpa!

The “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer, 63, and his wife Dorothea became first-time grandparents after their son Jake Bongiovi and daughter-in-law Millie Bobby Brown announced on Thursday, Aug. 21, that they are parents.

The Stranger Things actress, 21, and her husband, 23, confirmed in a post on Instagram that they had welcomed a baby girl via adoption and they were excited for the new adventures on the horizon.

“This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy,” they wrote in a joint post.

They concluded, “And then there were 3.”

Jake is Bon Jovi and Dorothea’s second-born son. They also share their daughter Stephanie, 32, and sons Jesse, 30, and Romeo, 21.

High school sweethearts, the musician and his wife eloped in Las Vegas in 1989 after dating for nine years. They welcomed Stephanie, in 1993, with Jesse following two years later and Jake in 2002. Romeo, their youngest, was born in 2004.

Speaking to PEOPLE in 2020, Bon Jovi said the secret to their successful, long-lasting marriage is that they “really like each other” and “want to hang out.”

“I always said I was good at spotting potential too. I have a gift,” Dorothea chimed in to add.

Brown and Jake exchanged vows in a private ceremony in May 2024. The couple announced their engagement a year earlier.

Despite their young ages, Bon Jovi was a fierce supporter of the couple.

“I don’t know if age matters, if you find the right partner and you grow together,” Bon Jovi said during an appearance on Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM show Radio Andy in May 2023.

He also shared some advice, saying, “Growing together is wise. I think that all of my kids have found people that they think they can grow together with and we like them all.”

In March 2025, Brown weighed in on becoming a mom saying that her parents were young when she was born during an appearance on the Smartless podcast.

“Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me,” she said, adding that Jake said they couldn’t start building a family until they got married.

She continued, “And my thing was, I really want a family. I really want a big family.”

“I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future, but, for me, I don’t see having your own child, you know, as really any different as in adopting,” she said.
