Kanye West’s spokesperson shut down rumors that he sent his ex-wife Kim Kardashian a cease and desist letter concerning their four children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
It looks like Kanye West isn’t threatening legal action.
After an alleged cease and desist letter sent by the rapper to his ex-wife Kim Kardashian concerning their children North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, began circulating, his rep slammed the rumor, saying the document was “quite obviously fraudulent.”
“TMZ didn’t ask for comment before running the story,” Kanye’s spokesperson said in a statement to E! News May 9. “This morning, they finally emailed us with second thoughts, asking if it had been a ‘publicity stunt.’ No.”

The spokesperson added, “You fell for a hoax.”
TMZ has since amended its reporting to note that the letter was fake. E! News reached out to the publication for comment but has not heard back.
As seen in the letter obtained by TMZ and viewed by E! News, Kanye’s lawyers alleged Kim participated in “actions that violate Mr. West’s parental rights, exploit his children, and breach the joint custody agreement established.”
Among the alleged violations, the letter accused Kim, 44, of authorizing the sharing of North’s image on social media apps, as well as of denying Ye, 47, “meaningful access to his children” despite their joint legal and physical custody agreement.

Additionally, the document alleged that Kanye was prepared to take legal action if his requests were not met.
The “hoax” cease and desist letter began circulating less than two months after Kanye expressed regret over having children with Kim, with whom he finalized his divorce in 2022.

“That was my fault,” he told podcaster DJ Akademik in an interview shared to X, formerly Twitter, March 30. “I didn’t want to have children with this person after the first two months of being with them, but that wasn’t God’s plan.”
And Kanye—who tied the knot with Bianca Censori in 2022—went on to question whether he has equal say in their children’s lives.
“I don’t have at least 50-50 with my kids, so how is it joint custody?” he asked. “My kids are celebrities, and I don’t have a say.”
